Tampa Bay Rays (May 1)

This was easily my second favorite game of the season for many reasons: * I won the Sprint Caption Contest which means I got a $50 gift card and my name announced in the stadium. Click here to read more about it. * Julie had a friend that she sat with right behind home plate, so I was left to myself. I invited a co-worker of mine and his wife and we had a great night. * The Royals had another great comeback. The Rays were beating the Royals 5-0 after two innings, but in typical Royals fashion they came back again and won the game 9-8. Another amazing comeback. * The only downside to the game was that it was so, so cold. The temperature at 4:30 was 82 degrees, but by the time 8:00 rolled around the temperature had dropped more than 30 degrees. We were both very cold and left the game around 8:45, but we did listen the entire way home and turned on the TV when we got home. Click here to see the pictures.

Tampa Bay Rays (April 30)

This was by far my favorite game of the season and one of my top 5 games of all time. This was the first time that we were able to see James Shield pitch and we were both excited for that. The beginning was rough for him with the first batter getting a single and the next batter hitting a homerun. He settled down after that and went seven strong innings, but the Royals couldn't do anything against the Rays pitcher until the 6th inning. There were two outs in the sixth inning when the floodgates opened. The Royals strung together eight straight hits and the place went nuts, especially after Mike Moustakus hit a two run homer to give the Royals the lead. Usually my wife and I try to leave the weekday games around 8:30-9:00 because we have to be up every morning at 5:00, but tonight we were so excited about the game that we stayed for the whole thing and didn't get to bed until 11:00. Great game and great win. Click here for the pictures.

Cleveland Indians (April 28)

Today was a great game. We decided to start a little bit early and tailgate before the game. We got a great spot and this was probably the most fun we have had tailgating in quite some time. There were tons of people tailgating and for my wife it was great people watching, while for me it was great talking to people about the Royals. The game was as much fun as tailgating because the Royals just crushed the Indians. Jeremy Guthrie was pitching and he was in command the entire game and the Indians were never in it. Alcides Escobar got his 500th hit today and wouldn't you know that it would be a home run. The crowd was amazing and it just goes to show that if the Royals are good the fans will come. Minute Maid Park (Houston Astros)

We recently took a trip to Houston to see the Houston Astros and Minute Maid Park. Click here to see what we did and what we thought of the stadium.
